"For the many, not the few."

If Jezza gets in, people earning a total income of just £14,000 a year will pay £400 MORE a year in tax - I suppose someone has to pay for the open border policy.

Neil scrutinised Corbyn over how he would fund the repayment of £60bn to WASPI women who lost out on money due to a change in the pension age. Corbyn said that money would be borrowed and taken from government reserves "over some years".

Well, I'm not sure he ever did. He started all his sentences with "Well, let me explain". I think his staff had watched the Sturgeon fiasco and schooled Corbyn, trying to learn the lessons of facial expressions. It was also very obvious that Corbyn had been told to be aware that the interview was only for 30 minutes and to use the evasive tactics that he did in order to waste time.
The interview started quietely enough with Andrew Neil giving Corbyn the time and space to answer questions but, again, he wanted to waste time by wanting to "explain". Things, as you say, fell off a cliff when Andrew Neil put on the pressure by not letting Corbyn waste time and broke through the "well, let me explain" tactic telling Corbyn that he'd already heard him explain and that he (Andrew Neil) wanted a direct answer. It took several attempts by Corbyn to realise that the "well, let me explain" card was not going to work, although he kept trying every now and then.
I think that was when you saw the real Corbyn when he got annoyed when not being allowed to waste time and having to resort to giving vague answers.
When asked how he would pay for his pledge to make up the pension losses for those women that fell in that category, he said repeatedly "we'll pay for it", but didn't say how. Andrew Neil pressed him on how he was going to pay for the pledge, (like a Terrier with a Rat), as he had already drained the Treasury of any money with all the other hundred of Billions his election pledges would cost. When continuing to be pressed he finally fell back in desperation to saying "we'll pay it from the Reserves" and then into confusion when Andrew Neil pointed out that there would be no reserves left. When Andrew Neil asked Corbyn how much was in the UK Reserves at the moment he hadn't a clue, which shows all his policies are based on no knowledge of financial matters.
I think what chilled my blood was when Corbyn was asked if he would apologise to the British Jews for his failure, (or lack of inclination/willingness), to get rid of the anti-semitism in the Labour Party. You could see by Corbyn's face that he could see where Andrew Neil was leading him to well before he was asked if he wanted to apologise, and didn't like it. What I, personally, saw in Corbyn's face when asked to apologise, and excuse me if you think that I'm being dramatic, but I saw the shadows of the face of the 1930's Germany flicker in his eyes.
I think some people might have been disappointed with the Corbyn interview after the Sturgeon debacle where she was visibly shattered by Andrew Neil's brutal questioning, but Corbyn is a different character altogether and so it took more time and technique to get under Corbyn's facade but I think that, for many people, what they then saw wasn't pleasant.

It was early on with Andrew Neil asking him if he thought a particular sentence was anti-semitic. JC eventually agreed it was although certainly took the circuitous route. I think too much time was spent on anti-semitism when there were so many other things to be talking about.
JC must be doing something OK as the younger people voter registrations are massive!

I rather get the impression JC doesn't give a damn if he gets in or not. There's no real passion or drive from him, he just wants to tick something off a not particularly important list.

Latest tactic from the reds is to release and wave about a 451 page doc that 'categorically proves the NHS is up for sale'! Assistant political editor says it definitely states what the US want but not what the UK are offering. t's just showcase drama

I agree, although that reason alone would be enough for me not to vote for him.

In general, for the last 80 - 90 years, a very large proportion of the Jewish vote has gone to Labour but I understand that Corbyn has lost a big percentage of it.

News article today on how Labour are altering strategy as they're still lagging far behind the blues. They made some pretty basic wrong assumptions and are now struggling to play catch up...

Also according to the IFS labour's proposals for increases to corporation tax, which would take corporate tax revenues to their highest ever in the UK and to among the highest in the developed world. That said, the IFS also claims neither blues nor reds offer a credible prospectus to manage UK finances. It's almost as if politicians just make stuff up...

                      Hi,

I believe we've got a general election coming up; given every MP we now have in the UK it's rather like asking a person due to be executed to vote for their preferred executioner?

                      Kind regards, Colin.

I have no trouble deciding who to vote for as my MP does a really good job. :blue thumb: I don't like his boss but at least it isn't Corbyn.
