I wonder if we will return to pounds shillings and pence, plus yds ft and inches. Mind you todays youngster will be totally lost.

Listening to party members etc since the election. Every one is say what a prat JC is/was. So does this not to some degree indicate what much of the socialist party are like. Why did they not stand up and kick his butt out of the frame and give themselves as a party, perhaps a better chance at the vote.
IMO still think this was an election of dispair. The PM, like him or hate him. His own MP's had decided to do it their way. Perhaps friends. You or I in the same situtation may have said. Stuff it. Get on with it. Brexit I think really bought things to a head. Had it not been for the fact that the majority of Brits had had a belly full of Brexit, and the GE had been simply just that. A choice for a change in political rulership, might the outcome have been different.

As I say. I hold no political favour. Looking back in our history. I find it very sad to recall how prosperous the Noth was at one time. The great industrial North. Now as the TV cameras tour the streets, the scene is like a devastated town. Something I have noted over the years. People of the North stick together, through thick and thin. Yet despite their decline in living standards etc. IMO they have been held back from making a stand for themselves and rekindling that great push forward spirit. Sorry, but I think the unions, once an asset to many, have now become another political party and. We can all see the results. I do hope that Westminster will honour the vote and trust now given them and act up and treat our Northern families right.

Oi. Give me my soapbox back.:rasp::rasp:

And some are refusing to accept the result, just like they refused to accept the result of the referendum, because all those who voted Conservative were 'ignorant racists who were misled by the lying media'. I forsee attacks on the media by the more extreme holders of those beliefs.

The likes of Gina Miller will now have their lawyers poring over the text of anything to do with the forthcoming trade negotiations looking for something they can use to take the government to court again and again.

The SNP will also be taking the government to court claiming they have the right to a further referendum. If successful, how that may impact upon Brexit is anybody's guess and I would expect further court cases.

                It ain't all over yet.

I'm not political minded although other family members are ,esp our eldest son who was very active and reached quite a high level a few years ago.

In my mind this GE was purely a Brexit one, people are fed up to their eyeballs with all the to-ing and fro-ing, yes-ing and no-ing.

Boris was there, might as well stay put and see it through. Better the devil you know....comes to mind.

Let's just do the deed and get it over with. We must be the biggest political comedy show in the world at the moment....and what a grand lot of comedians we've bred!!!

                    .....I'm off.....:sofa:

If you were unhappy at the Tory victory don't worry as Diane Abbott done a recount and Labour won

Hi Scudo, I don't think she did a recount. I think she just looked at the figures and thought they'd won anyway :)

Maybe she should become the next leader at least it would be entertaining until Labour get their act together which could be a decade away.
