I’m already counting down the weeks to shineyland :hapfeet:. I’m hoping @ARMANDII cousin will be going, she’s such a lovely lady.

I should start getting my bush prepared :heehee: , I don’t want to turn up with it needing a trim that won’t help @Fat Controller ‘s recovery! :yikes:

We seem to have gone off topic....I have no idea how that happened :whistle:

I didn’t want to add any more to this thread, but thought it worth mentioning... I’ve written to my local MP. I basically said that since government can’t cope with it, send it back to the people to vote on Mays deal or no deal. Definitely a waste of time, but at least I voiced my opinion.

Isn't one of the (many) problems in the UK at the moment the fact that quite a high proportion of the population are confused as to what 'no deal' means? I've even read of people believing that it means the UK would stay in Europe. Should there be a further vote, it would be nice to think that on the second occasion the Press and other media, as well as the politicians, would set out clearly and honestly what the options mean. I had a dream......;):snorky:

I think you have to be careful what you read:dunno: Yes, there is a lot of confused about BREXIT but I don't think the majority of the British Public are confused about what a no deal BREXit means.......they know it means leaving with EU completely without any ties and having to trade under WTO rules, There's been organised campaigns on both sides of the squabble throwing mud and dust everywhere, but the public may be confused but that doesn't make them stupid so I think they know exactly what a hard BREXIT is.....whether or not they all like it is another question. The British Public has been under attack from the Media, business organisations, political organisations by many fear campaigns who's interests are not always that of the UK itself ..........and that has caused much confusion and fear among the many, but I still think that the majority know exactly what a hard BREXIT means............but nobody can forecast what the effects will be, or how long it will take for the UK and Britain to recover.

                  You can but dream!

Christ, they're confused enough by the backstop! Half of them even believe that Mays hated 'deal' is actually our leaving deal!

I didn't say the majority were confused, ARMANDII.:) Let's hope, should there arise a second vote, that it will be based on well-worded questions, well-informed voters and , incidentally, that 3 million people whose lives it will directly affect are included in the voting.

Unfortunately, it has gone too far for that, noisette, as our Politicians have stopped doing the job they were voted in to do i.e: do what the UK people wanted them to do in the referendum. A second referendum would only appease those that want a different answer to the first referendum and would be a betrayal of the UK peoples trust. The SNP lost the Independence Referendum by a large margnin but were back "knocking on the door" wanting another one so that they could get a different answer to the one they got. Having a second BREXIT referendum would be no different to that in that a lot of political and financial organsations want a different answer to the one the British Public gave them in the first referendum.......that is not democracy but it is an easy way out for the Politicians, and they should not have a easy way out but do their job and take the responsibility given to them by the referendum to leave the EU.
European countries are known for holding referendum after referendum to get the answer their governments want (the Danes being an example).......that is not the way we should go.

Think I heard this on the radio from a caller, seemed to make perfect sense to me.

Lets have another referendum by all means, but there should be NO option to remain.
That part was sorted in the first referendum, a second should only be about HOW we actually LEAVE.
It strikes me those calling for a second ref. really just want to alter the first one, take that option off the table and then it would be a sensible proposition IMO.

I mean, lets face it, we have a bunch of MPs demanding that a no deal option be removed before they will even start talking about it.
And TALK is about all they ever do.

Well, you may be, I dont know, but are there only those two options?
It looks to me like there is going to be an extension on March deadline:scratch:

If there is, maybe, just maybe the stupid idiots we pay to sit on their fat a**es and sort things out might actually do some negotiating.
Personally if the EU allow an extension then as far as I'm concerned we aint heard their final offer yet.
