the 'expenses' are not fast cars and expensive hotel rooms. In 2018 she claimed 180k, of which 140k was to pay the wages of the staff in her constituency office. The people who do the day to do running, answering constituent emails, arranging events etc. Every MP does this. In fact, she is pretty good, there are no tea's and coffees on that list, no parking charges. It is nearly exclusively office costs for the rest.
Find out what your UK MP's been claiming for at MPsExpenses.info

On the security issue's she is right. We co-operate with various other European agencies via agreements we have with being EU members such as the European arrest warrant. A no deal instantly removes us from these. Sure we can opt back in, but without any kind of transition there is a gap where we don't have access to this, hence security at risk.

it is not 'free movement' it is visa-free travel, there are restrictions such as requiring a visa to work and a limit of being there for 90 days in a 180day period, and it is only if we reciprocate.

That is probably fine for the vast majority who go over there for holidays. But what about those who are driving the trucks? They are working, therefore need to apply for work visas.

Yep, my bad I wasn't clear. Still a good move though IMO. Trucking companies will have a system for visas for their staff

yea I'm sure they will, whenever they find out what that system is. We have no idea if that system will be in place on the 12th.

Todays water leak summed up our political system. Old, decrepid, too expensive (£5B Repairs) and in need of a complete replacement and not another patch up job.

Guy Fawkes had the right idea :campfire:

Water leak, as far as I'm concerned the place might as well flood.
I'm just fed up with the whole lot of them, they should all be made to attend, be shut in the place, water leak and all, and not let out until they come up with something.

If they must have the final say, so be it, but lets have your final say, for god sake.

Guy Fawkes' ears must be burning because his name has been mentioned many a time in these last few weeks in this house.

The problem is that they are having their final say but as the issue is so utterly divisive there will never be anything that is either agreeable or suits their own political aspirations!

I've been out all evening so haven't caught up on this. When I went out it looked as though they were deliberately filibustering in order for it to time out! I think a lot of them weren't happy with the one vote majority. The Lords are still allowed to filibuster whereas the Commons aren't.

And she got another bollocking off the Americans for only spending 1.25% of german gdp on its nato contribution.

Yet WE spend 2% of our gdp on Nato defending germany from russia. Its madness.....

When the UK leaves Germany is expected to topple into recession and as for Ireland well their just fecked as they say in ireland.
