Brexit -am I stupid or what

There has to be written communication between different branches of government and individuals. You would rightly think and expect that government emails would be secure.

 

Nothing is secure once it leaves your keyboard.
I dont care who you are, if a foreign power wants to make trouble they can.
But it's more likely to be closer to home perhaps.

 

But it is an ambassadors job to say these things. It wasn't a hack, it was a moo poo stirrer leaking confidential emails. An ambassador cannot fly back every time that he has something to say for fear of leaks or tapped phone lines. And most importantly it is not for a touppe wearing prick in the whitehouse to pick our ambassador.

 

But, at today's prices for travel and the efficiency, the fellow should have had the opportunity to fly the 7 hours home every 6 weeks or so for a secure face to face debriefing on his home turf. And to perhaps rub shoulders at home for a few days now and then. Keep a grip on domestic goals.

Just my umble opinion. ...

Our ambassador was careless....possibly arrogant
An ambassador needs the goodwill, respect and trust of both the host country and that of the country he represents. No way could he continue after those leaks.
The issue is bigger than one individual. Like it or not, the UK needs the USA.....like him or loathe him we need Trump.
The ambassador had to go.

Johnson or Hunt, regardless, we will tear him to pieces when he becomes PM. Neither will get support. An object of ridicule ..as always ...yet we need to realise he’s our hope for a good deal in Europe.

 

Just when you think things couldn't get any worse ...

Read this morning of a poll that found Boris as PM would (narrowly) win a GE.

But what wasn't mentioned was a possible alternative of PM Hunt having to rely on the Brexit Party to form a government consisting of a Hunt/Farage coalition

So we have an ambassador that cant do his job because the country we have sent him to wont accept him, sounds like a good idea.
The leak happened and the bloke had to go, end of.

Maybe they, might be a bit more careful about security regarding messages in future.

I wonder just how often he does fly back, and lets face it his opinion is not exactly secret, the BBC tell us this every day, almost.

 

Reading discussion in the media about the falling pound and speculation how low it will go in the event of either a Tory no-deal Brexit, or election of a Corbyn led Labour government, nobody seems to be considering the possibility of a Corbyn/Labour no-deal Brexit


And as Carney now wants to slash interest rates in the event of a no-deal Brexit (the opposite to pre refendum 'project fear'), that will lead to further falls in the value of the pound, and it will be even worse if they crank up quantative easing again.

In addition to BoE QE to boost the economy, I understand that Labour want some more QE type funding to pay for all their re-nationalisation schemes.

And if it all goes pear shaped, guess who's rumoured to want to be the next head of the IMF? OMG it's George Osborne

Ey...I've read today that Jeremy Hunt reckons he can sort this Brexit business by Christmas!!!!
So where does the 31st of October come into it then..I've tried to be patient but he is seriously getting on my ning nangs now.Having said that he's better than the other Jezza..
