That's interesting as he was born to Pakistani Muslims, is listed in the Muslim 500 (a Muslim organisation listing the most influential 500 Muslims in the world Sajid Javid (New) ) and I seem to remember in his interview on BBC Radio 4 sometime in June he didn't deny he was a Muslim when they asked him about not being invited to the dinner with Trump because he was a Muslim.

I've no idea whether he's a practicing Muslim or has converted to Christianity or is an agnostic but everyone else seems to think he's a Muslim. :dunno:

Can he count? Because to be honest that is all I really want from a Chancellor.

@KFF - the BBC are not alone in poor research and journalism nowadays sadly, they are in good company with Sly News, and Canal 4 News

Well, I used to be a life long Labou voter until Blair and Brown arrived, started squabbling among themselves. What really finished me off was Mr Brown's Chancellor, when Labour wss chucked out, who left a note on the desk for the incoming Tory Chanceller saying

'Dear chief secretary, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left,'

So I'm assjuming that an ex-Chancellor, who became a Prime Minister, didn't even know his Chancellor counldn't count and left the UK with a huge debt and in a recession:wallbanging::heehee:

I can count, but I dont think I'd be much use as a Chancellor.
As to a Muslim one, who knows, who cares, just as long as he wants out of the EU.;)

While trying to stay out of the heat I found myself watching Boris making his first speech in Parliament........yes, I know, I should have had better things to do:dunno::heehee:
Anyway, I watched Ian Blackford (SNP) stand up and say, gloatingly, that he welcomed Boris because he would be the last Prime Minister of the UK........I'm not sure of his logic and put it down to wishful thinking. He then went on to rant about the fact that Boris didn't have a Mandate to run the country as he (Boris) had only been voted in as Prime Minister by the Tory Party and not the country...........which is true:dunno: Mr Blackford seemed very pleased with himself with his line of attack, until Boris pointed out that Nicola Sturgeon had become leader of the SNP and the Scottish Goverment without even a vote when replacing Alex Salmond!!!! I had to chuckle at that and then seeing Mr Blackford's expression when he realised the hole he'd fallen into was exquisite:whistle::heehee::loll::lunapic 130165696578242 5:

One thing that Boris is good at is face to face discussions/arguments. Whether that gets anywhere in EU negotiations is another matter but it gives a good impression.

To be honest I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets along in the coming months. It's a bit shabby being treated so badly having only just started the job. He's in, so give him some rope to swing or hang himself.

If the UK leaves the EU in October, will we immediately become no longer bound to enforce EU sanctions, release the Iranian tanker seized at Gibraltar (letting Spain go chase it?) and defuse the tit for tat crisis in the Straight of Hormuz?

P.S. And why did Therasa May sanction seizing it, if she thought we were about to leave the EU?

Did someone mention we were leaving the EU?
