Brexit -am I stupid or what

What I find puzzling, what ever TM voted, is that she actually picked up the "Poisoned Chalice" that nobody else wanted. She must have known what an impossible task it was going to be.

I agree with pete. Cameron gave into pressure to honour the pledge to hold a Referendum on leaving or staying in the EU thinking the result would be a "stay in" result which he supported...... a major misread of the "Man in the Street" by a man out of touch with the Nation. May did the same, misreading the Nation's mood of anger, disillusionment with the failure of all MP's. thinking her "Leadership" with a Cabinet in disarray, and a Parliament of MPs of all Political Parties who were/are putting their own interests first while blatantly ignoring their duty to the Nation and the result of the Referendum would, somehow, gain her greater support...while not recognising nobody but the EU wanted that deal.

With respect Freddy, I am not sure that it is - I am sure that when you vote, you vote for the party/policy that best aligns with your beliefs. Theresa voting to remain and then going on to lead a government to leave is a bit like putting me in charge of negotiations on behalf of vegan cyclists. Can I negotiate? Yes. But could I effectively negotiate on their behalf? Absolutely not, because I don't believe in the same things that they do, therefore I do not have the passion or fire in my belly to go and make it happen.

So, evidently we've learned bugger all over the past 2,074 years.

 

Underlined by the fact that the then Labour Chancellor, Liam Byrne, left a note on the desk for the incoming Tory Chancellor which said "I'm afraid there is no money. , and leaving the UK with a huge debt and a recession. We still have a major portion of MP's that are in a mental state of blind extreme political belief, incompetence, and agendas that puts their own stubborn, nationalistic, short sighted beliefs before the interest of the UK and the Referendum....which is why Parliament and it's MP's couldn't even make a decision that even a Village Idiot could make. It will take a long, long time for this present Parliment to live down the state of disunity and sheer incompetence that history will place upon them............but, what irks me, is that I don't think they care.
