Walnut. You might be able to get a week out of a Brug. flowerb-0. I consider myself lucky if they last three days:)

Dee. If it's outside, maybe you could put fleece over it at night. The weather forecast doesn't look too clever for the frozen North:)

Yeah. I'm sure we all get on walnut's nerves a bit. If you google Brugmansia, there's lots of info. there. :) Not sure about over-wintering them in garages. When I tried that, they died:mad:

Your right about the threat of frost Caj so keep a weather eye open Young Daisy, page 2 on this thread has some info on overwintering but don't hesitate to ask if fails to answer your questions.
I did overwinter some outside last year(with certain protection measures) and had a 60% success rate although the plants grew and flowered ok this year they didn't have the same vigour.
Some named varieties can stand the cold better than others, over in the states they are regularly overwintered outside.
Some were overwintered in the polytunnel with no heat 90% success recovered better and quicker than the ones left outside.
Some overwintered in the greenhouse min temp.8-10c these carried on growing in fact the Arborea variety were throwing out flowers on and off all winter, the light/heat box was in the g/house and seeds and plants were raised throughout the winter very successfully.
Temperature inside the g/house will be dropped to 5c this winter on the grounds of funding.
