Should I be getting flower buds yet? They are growing like mad, look very bushy and healthy but I'm getting impatient now to see flowers.

Kate, are they from rooted cuttings or grown from seed,if they are from rooted cuttings the chances are they will flower this year,if they are from seed the main stem has to form a "Y" it will only flower when it does this, the seed would have to have been planted early this year for it to flower this year otherwise it will be next year if that makes sense.

I bought them from T & M earlier this year. They have all formed a Y and then just carried on getting bushy. Very healthy looking. I have been watering and feeding like mad, so where are my flowers Urghhh:mad::mad:

Walnut - yesterday my first Brugmansia, from your seed planted this year, has just flowered. Its just as you said the stem has divided, and lo there was one flower with plenty more buds.

Sorry to hear yours have not performed yet Clematis - but I suspect that it will only be a short while before they do.

One of my crosses from last year produced this triple deep gold brugmansia,I am absolutely delighted up to now it is the only one out of a batch of seeds, the whole plant has treble flowers,I had some at my brothers to grow them out he said "that ones a funny one you had best check it out" I have heard of no triple gold in this country,:yho:

Got the brownie points already Bob I have already named one Kathryn after my other half ,the name la fleur d'or has been suggested for this one which means the golden flower and is looking favourable at the moment.
Hang in there Clematis I am sure it will happen lots of time yet.

Truly a beautiful cross, walnut, you are so clever. :luv:

My Brug never recovered so come rain season I shall have to make a decision as to whether to split it or what to do. In the meantime, I am devoting my time to my Cannas and Hibiscus. :)

Keep the water fresh Bob you don't need to add anything, when I do a lot of cuttings I put an aeration stone in the water (a bubbler)like the ones in a fish tank, this keeps the water fresh and seems to aid the development of roots, the little white dots are refered to as (nubbies) it will not be long before the roots grow out of them, let them develope some good roots before you pot them up.
