Give it a spray with this stuff, you can buy it in most decent garden centreshttp://www.jacksonsnurseries.co.uk/westland-plant-rescue-bug-killer-ornamental-plants-750ml.html
It works on RSM, only thing I have found that does.

I'm slightly sceptical that you have RSM this early in the season, unless your brugs are in a very warm position:).
Are they in the house, I've had some RSM in my conservatory already this year, but that is kept around 20C during daylight.

Ah yes, pride of place on a lovely warm, south-facing, sunny windowsill - never below 17º at night, and generally 22º-ish

        Thanks :)

I am all the more 'precious' about plants that have been gifted to me - you took the time and trouble to send me a lovely plant, and I have a duty to look after it. :)

I used it as a spray; dunno about a leaf-wipe, sorry. Sounds reasonable though.

I haven't looked up the details specifically, but its a contact spray, not systemic, so a) you have to cover the plant - both sides of the leaves and b) you have to do it (from memory) every 2 days for something like a fortnight to break the breeding cycle. Its a bit tedious, but when I used it I managed to wipe them out, so I was happy :). Most of the foliage I was spraying onto didn't like it, so once I had discovered that that was a problem I had the extra chore of washing all the leaves a couple of hours after spraying the Neem oil on!

I got some horticultural soap at the same time (to mix in the spray as a wetting agent)

There is something about Phosphates (or might be Potash??) in Horticultural soap, as compared to regular detergent, which is kinder to the plants' leaves. Its a tad expensive though (no, I have no idea why, surely detergent is detergent? :( )

Might also be that Horticultural soap has a bigger impact on Aphids (soap alone does for them, as it interferes with their ability to breath through their moist skin, or something like that) so you might find horticultural soap (on its own) more effect against Aphids than washing up liquid. But coupled with Neem it will be better anyway.

Worth a Google for how often you need to repeat the spraying to break their breeding cycle.

I spied a lone bottle of Provado through the shed window earlier, so I have some left.....

Just a bit of a mission to dig the blighter out.

Mine likewise. We've only had 4 or 5 frosts all winter, -1C and -2C only, so not as low as that in the conservatory.

Mine haven't started to move yet, but with some hot days they will - keep the vents closed a bit later in the morning, to boost the temperatures on sunny days, and close them a bit early in the afternoon to carry heat into the evening.
