Right, I have another bloom. It's a cross of a yellow Aurea x DDR x DDR( DDR is a flower called Double Dark Rosetta). So the thought of the cross was, nice waxy plant, good scent, introduce some colour into it. But it didn't happen:heehee: No matter!

But still it's a prolific bloomer that sometimes throws double's after a while. But this is the first of many and here she is. Nice twangers on her... Wayne

        Hello chums.

I'm a bit concerned about the mottling on the leaves, as even the newer leaves are showing signs. I'm pretty sure I've got rid of the RSM and Thrips, so I'm thinking it might be Magnesium deficiency ?

If spidey mite..check for fine webbing between the freshest shoots and leaves. If this is the case, try some diluted washing up liquid sprayed on both sides of the leaves. The plant won't like it too much, but it will recover and you will have lovely smelling hands:heehee:

If not, try to get hold of some Molasses and dilute it( a teasppon in a watering can) maybe a pinch of Epsom salts in the can too. Feeds the soil and puts good nutients into the plant.

Freddy, more like blackstrap molasses. I got my from a horses tack yard, around 7 quid for a 5 litre container. Great stuff, contains iron , phosphoros, etc. Last a long, long time too. Cannas thrive on it too.

Freddy, try the washing up liquid spray ... personally I would not attempt anything here sticky in a hot environment.

Yeah, but I think gardeners prefer a "raw" alternative. Not used it myself, you might find it in an (online) hydroponics store, or an organic gardening one.

I posted when others had already replied - phone rang after I started my reply I expect. What Wayne said was what I was thinking of. I'll have a root around for the details I have in "my little folder" when I have a mo. in case I have an alternative you might like to consider.
