    Definately the larger bubbles.

In my previous greenhouse it lasted 1 1/2 years and then started disintegrating. (I don't take it down in summer - leave it up all year round).
In my current greenhouse I have the larger bubbles. 4 years and still no sign of falling apart.

I read: spray bottle of water, spray onto the glass and "smooth" the bubble wrap onto it; the surface tension should be sufficient, and easy to remove in the spring. Dunno if it will work for the roof though?

My understanding is that the less the bubble wrap has contact with the glass, the more efficient it will be to aid in the retaining of heat. The contact points is where there will be heat loss.

You can get a cold-bridge, yes. But if the bubblewrap is some distance from the glass then the air movement between glass and bubblewrap can create convection currents. I have no idea which is the worse evil though!

I've been meaning to ask this on an energy-related forum, I'll do that and report back.

Personally I'd like to install the bubblewrap as a curtain suspended on wires at minimum height - and draw it along the length of the greenhouse. This would reduce the air volume to be heated, but would leave a large volume of air between bubble-wrap "curtain" and glass, and thus the convection currents might defeat the objective.

Its worth noting that convection currents are much more difficult to initiate in horizontally orientated air spaces compared to vertical ones. Convection currents need height and a temperature difference eirther side to create movement.
Imagine a 6ft high double glazed panel, the warmer side causes the thin layer of boundary air inside the panel to rise. The cold side (outside) cools the boundary air on the inside of the other piece of glass causing it to fall, et voila, you have a convection current.
Think of it as a vertical conveyor belt that transports heat from the inside your gh to the cold world outside ;)

            Depends on the quality.
If it is the smaller bubbles then it probably won't be worth it.
The larger bubbles tends to be a bit more expensive, but it lasts much longer.
