Thanks Alex that will make things easier! and on the compost I've been thinking of sending for bio mix This could come with the same order for grow and bloom but do you think this type of compost is necessary or would you think that a normal garden centre compost as long as it has got an open structure would be okay!

      Hi Tom
I have not used bio mix before so can not comment, looks ok reading the literature but seems expensive. just be in my mix aware it contains coco fibre which can lock up calcium.
I use coco for my worm beding that is why I use the calcified seaweed so no calcium problems
I use Levingtons professional M2 £8.99 for 75 litres (Peat based)
Canna Terra professional (peat based with perlite) £10 for 50 litres
I would not use ordinary compost from the garden centre as you do not know what is in it.
I stopped using the normal ones when they became full of all sorts of twigs and so and I had a poor crop.
      Regards Alex

Slightly off topic, but Tomatoes are C3 plants and can't use sunlight to photosynthesise between about 11am and 2pm.

They do need the heat to ripen however.

To concentrate the flavour don't water in the morning, curl a full hosepipe in the greenhouse and water at the end of the day when the water in it has got really hot :)
