    They only flower on the current years' growth, I think. Mine are both sef-seeded from somewhere, and very useful big gap fillers. They are almost like weeds in the indestructable department - you will find them popping up in any crack in the driveway!!! Butterflies love them!!

    Every bit of waste land around here is covered with buddleia. No they are not hard to maintain and they do attract a lot of butterflies.

    thinking of getting one myself now got to bring the flutterbys in to the garden for kids to look at very prity little things
