burning

    :thumb: I have had a look & there seems to be no specific laws.. Some areas may differ slightly...

    These are the Governments guidelines.....

    We burn all our hard wood stuff on the allotment and spread it on the plots. Ash is good for the soil and also keeps slugs at bay because ash has got prickly particles and slugs dont like crossing it. Burn after 6pm.

    Dont have a fire directly on the ground where your growing as will have negative result (killing worms destroying usefull compounds ) burning straw or hay any quick burning materiels are ok but prolonged burning isnt.Burn in a incinerator bin then add to compost heap .Potash(ie potasium carbonate) is used in some compost accelerators .Some materiels when burnt have very high potash content (ie bracken) which is caustic so safer to put in compost heap with added bonus will make compost quicker.ps just have your fires late evening i live in london no one minds as long as there washings in bye
