    A couple from yesterday,

    Saw a Small Copper

    and then a Tortoiseshell

    tortoiseshell.jpg

But then the Small Copper started 'chasing' the Tortoiseshell around so I couldn't get a good, clear shot of either (think one or other of them may also have been frustrated).

Today I spent some time hanging around a Bramble patch, hoping for a shot of a Speckled Wood feeding from a ripe Blackberry, but only managed a mediocre pic of one that landed on a leaf.

Couldn't resist taking some more shots of the Hummingbird Hawkmoth as it was around the Salvias again this morning, as before it ignored Hotlips and went for Icing Sugar and the Blue Salvia.

Holly Blue (looking very tatty with worn markings on top, but saw side to ID it).

I found this caterpillar the other day on my pond net such a fantastic little thing and boy did it move quickly!! So I took as many photos as I could and one of which one has been added to the 'Macro Comp' however I'm not sure what it is.... so here are some others... I'm guessing at the length and spine that it could be a dragonfly...@wiseowl??

Looks like a Sycamore Moth caterpillar to me too.

Just a point of interest,Dragonflies lay eggs underwater and the larva live underwater until ready to emerge as an adult.
