    Red Admiral yesterday sunning itself. The red seems to come out orange.

      I don't think I've seen a Red Admiral that isn't orange Strongy. :)

        Remember that until relatively recently (language-wise) there was no word for "orange", so the word "red" covered red and orange. Hence, Robin Redbreast, etc... It is only when the first orange fruit came in, that the two colours separated.

            I've no idea what butterfly this is but I took the photo at the Temple of Artemis at Sardis. It was not good at posing for photos and was on the move constantly.

                First Speckled Wood of the Spring and looks fresh, just as I took the pic a Brimstone flew passed but didn't settle.

                          Green Hairstreak today, never seen one before. They are brown on open wings but green when closed up, very small, only 1" across.
