                I found a mating pair of Eyed Hawk Moths (Smerinthus ocellata) on our apple tree, there is only a little of the 'eyes' showing.

                      I saw a Privet Hawk-Moth for the first time ever and was very much impressed by it because it is sooooo big..... after googling it I've learned that it has a wingspan of 10-12cm.:wow:

                          Ruby Tailed or Cuckoo Wasp, tiny and with a metallic sheen which would have shown if the sun was out.:smile:
