I have saved a patch near my compost bin too for the last couple of years but not one caterpillar either, if they don't come soon I will have to chop it down cos I can't get to my bin now without getting stung!!

Thinking how nettles are so common we should be over run with butterflies and moths and see them feeding off the leaves more often.

When I worked on the farm we had one massive patch of nettles by the milking parlor and every year would be covered in caterpillars but we also had others patches dotted around the farm and they never got touched ? I would love to know the answer to that.
