    I think you are all very brave..many years ago thought we'd give it a go The lake district was our choice borrowed a large tent, left the teenagers at home our friends had a small caravan, Well arrived got the gear outa the car black clouds gathering needed a cuppa managed that (I was a girl guide) husband and friend erected this tent he got in it, I took one look it stank of wet grass and at that point the heavens opened up, Well I did not know how to put a tent up but that was down and in the boot in nano seconds I'm going home...I meant it got in the drivers seat... no he didn't argue waved good bye to the friends with the caravan and drove straight home, it was never mentioned again. I was in my 40s and still a bit fiesty but I do remember it quite well. PS: Eldest daughter has a Bongo takes it all over Europe where i'm told they have super sites.

      I didnt know that either @Kandy. I got mine from a private seller in Stockport. They are a lovely vehicle to drive and some are converted, some aren't, depends what you want from them.

      I can still remember some folks trying to get their tent pitched who'd turned up with a borrowed tent, but with the wrong poles.

        @rosietutu I don't blame you, 'roughing it' in a tent is certainly not my idea of fun!! :frown:
