Can anybody identify this little Beauty

    Hi, all - just found this thread! Looks to me like a sawfly - there are several which have wasp-like colouring, and the fact that a number of pupae were found in one place would tally with that. I'm pretty sure it's not a true wasp, and the only other similar insects I can find are a couple of parasitic ichneumon flies which feed on moth larvae - and you'd be unlikely to find a group of pupae all together. So my money's on something which might have fed on the leaves of the plant in the basket and then gone underground to pupate....
