can not believe this!! - Horsetail, help!!

I read somewhere that lime can help, as it changes ph of the soil & makes it less habitable for horsetail?

 

Cultivation and general improvement of the soil (e.g. to make it into a garden ) will also help. Once it gets to the point of there only being a little it is easy to live with, or to do further (and hopefully "final"!) combat.

 

Could plastic sheeting help as well? We used the sheeting that farmers use for silage to kill off ground elder

 

Even the tough farmer stuff? This weed sounds like devil-spawn!!

@nFrost I use the lightly crush and spray with Glypho' method on my drive and pathway . It seems to have a good effect . The horsetail is not completely gone but is struggling ! For any horsetail showing in me beds , I constantly pick them out . There is a saying something like " never let Horsetail see a Sunday !".
