I loved seeing the whirlpool pictures, i have been on the cable car once, and that was enough for me. In the 3rd picture you can see where it looks like a basin, and the reason why the car door are locked is so that no one falls out, the water is rushing from the Falls and it cirlces in that basin before rounding the corner and the rapids in this area are some of the worst in the world, so if anyone ever fell out, thats its for you!

    [IMG] Hi Penny,
[IMG] Yes the whirlepool area is fierce.... Watched an old car wheel spinning round while we were there... As you say you wouldn't stand a chance if you fell in there... I realise they need to lock you in,,,, but a padlock...???? Just gave me the creeps... We went around the other side & you could see them a bit, but I left my camera in the car then... [IMG] Lovely country Penny. hope you don't mind me asking, but, are you Canadian by birth..??

I am born and raised here, we travel to Niagara often, the kids like Clifton Hill and we go there for different sporting events with them, i forgot to ask, did you get to see the Falls lit up at night? Its stunning when you see it.
Like i said, i have only done the cable car once and that was enough for me!!

I missed the cable car trip both times, my first visit was in '79 and couldn't go on it then and two years ago time ran out but maybe third time lucky!(one day). We saw the falls lit up and followed by a firework display, fantastic.

A birds eye view of Toronto from the CN Tower.... The view was amazing!!!! I was struck by the number of trees growing all around the city. A very green city, as many towns & cities were over there I thought.... Even Hamilton, which is a very industrial city, mainly steel I think. Was green. trees & parks all over the place....
The photos are not as clear & there are some reflections, but it is because they were all taken from behind the thick glass. None the less you get a good look....

This is looking SE towards Burlington & Hamlton, where we had come from. On a clear day in Hamilton we could see the CN Tower..!

Shall carry on from the last photo.. This is a beautiful Harbour. I imagine it is quite something else in the summer if full of boats & ships.... I think, very des' res' proprties here....

    The harbour entrance..
These two were leaving, nice to see life going on...
A closer look at the sailing ship...
"I'll just throw you a rope & I shall have my usual table, What"!!.......!!

Inside the CN Tower part of the floor in the viewing area is glass. It is a very strange feeling standing on it looking down I can tell you...!! Somepeople even laid down on it & had their photos taken like that..!!! There is a fountain in the centre right of the photo....

This is it. Bronze sculptures, I think, of Salmon Leaping up fish ladder.... It really was beautiful & so peacefull when sat on your own...!!

The CN Tower, looking way, way up at the glass floor area...!!

This shot is taken to the right of the fountain. This is a very busy area, but still clean & fresh looking, not tired, even though it is the end of the season there as well....
Toronto was a lovely city, with lots of trees. A green & healthy city with a beating heart....!!

Those photos take me back Marley, I went up it in '79 and was amazed then.
When we went to Niagara two years ago we could just about see the CN tower from the Skylon tower even though it was cloudy, shows how high it is. [IMG]
