If it was me I would fly into Winnipeg, stay with your friends for a while let & them show you around. Then you & Lorna either borrow friends car or hire one, hireing is very cheap to us..! Take off & tour around on your own, returning to spend last few days with friends. Orrrrrr, start off with your friends then drive either east or west, maybe east, back to Toronto & fly back home from there. Have done many a holiday that way. Into one place, drive & flyout of different location, easy if you hire your vehcle from an airport... If you do usually cheaper to book car hire from UK. Take a gold package... It's all in... I also want to see NewFoundland, Nova Scotia & Alaska..!! As well as the rest of Canada..!!! Anyway will stop babbling now & let you get a word in..!!!! :rolleyes: :D :D

Here we are Penny. This is one of the canal bridges. There are quite a few around as they link the lakes & very big ships use them. This is the one around Hamilton towards Burlington if I have it right...! It still has the old Lighthouse next to it & the old keepers cottage. The whole of the centre of the bridge rises. Fascinating to watch. Will find the ones where it is up, later.

We walked miles that day. ... approaching the bridge you can see the old lighthouse.
