Thanks harry most of mine are like your photo but some depending on which way up they ended up in my pliers did end up with the scar showing aswell so its a wait and see x

 

Same here Harry, some maybe slightly bigger and some maybe smaller nicks.
Hopefully some will show in the coming days.

 

Canna australis


last year I`ve bought 2 australis in my local market , I felt in love with the color of the leaves , but because of the virus in my garden they end up in the rubbish bin.

I`m looking for seeds , has anyone seen them on sale? everywhere i try they are sold out.

 

Send an email to Karchesky to ask if they have any? Communicating via their website seems hit & miss, but I hear they are responsive to emails.

 

They are very reliable in their responses via Facebook, I've sent several messages to Alice via FB and had replies within 24hrs, often much less

I now have 27 out of 33 germinated after 6-7 days, the biggest almost 2 inches now

 

Hi Joolz , just referred to my planting Excel sheet....
I potted on to 4" or 5" pots after 4 or 5 weeks
Had to Pot on to 7" pots the end of April 12 to 13 weeks ( they don't half grow fast ! )
Planted out last week end in May
Then sit back and enjoy until November !
I am just growing from saved and bought Rhizomes this year . They will be potted up in 2 weeks into 99p buckets ! And sneaked into the house one at a time while Mrs H is not watching

 

... not watching and then fails to notice for 3 months?

All seeds sown in the kitchen (warmer in there than my potting shed this time of year ...). Nearer to the kettle for a cuppa too ...

 

I could do with a hubby so to speak(i live in sin ) the same even thou daz has put up with my growing obsessions up to now i dreading his reaction of the canna take over Dyslexia is quite normal in this house,im sure i am,my eldest daughter is she has been finally tested last month..daz just adapts i think

Its the cats put out mostly due to seed trays etc cos ive took their windowledge views

 

No she notices alright ! It always cost me a meal out , to smooth things over
