I have one, but was new last year so I don't know if big enough to divide, I'll have a look. Remind me in a day or two if I have forgotten pls!!

Gentle reminder to be careful who you buy rhizomes from because of the risk of Virus :dbgrtmb:

15lt would be better? I've seen some at a relatively good price:) Or would a 10lt be a better proportion?

15lt will be great Freddy, it'll give more weight and stop them toppling over if its a tall growing variety :dbgrtmb:

        Hiya Bilbo.

It's Canna Brasiliensis, not a large variety, I think. I wouldn't want it to look out of proportion to the pot, if you understand?

I'm growing that one too Freddy, perhaps around 10lt would be good for a 3ft plant??

Today I have potted on my Cannas again and popped them back on to my warm windowsill, which is where they will stay for a couple of weeks until they've grown into their new compost a bit and then they will be hardened off to go in the greenhouse for about 4 weeks before going outside in June :dbgrtmb:, most (depending on the variety) are now getting towards 10-12 inch tall :)

My cannas are starting to come into life in the greenhouse, just noticed the first tiny shoots appearing. I didn't over-winter many as I had a big clear out of my virused plants last year.

I was going to restock buying plants in leaf to be sure they were virus free, but I couldn't resist some of the varieties on ebay. The grower is in the Orkneys, seems genuine and are disease free (fingers crossed). I bought three a week ago and liked what I got so I ordered another 15 tubers, they came today:

They are not massive tubers but they are healthy and are already starting to shoot, so I'm sure I'll get them to full size this year:
