Potted on 12 canna warscewiczii into 9cm pots.
Probably Abit bit behind everyone else's but they look really healthy :snork:
The canna New Zealand still in 7 cm pots and growing a bit slower.

My Canna seedlings are a lot smaller than, for this time of year, previous years too.

Mine are still on my warm windowsill but are picking up in growth rate now, many at 14-16 inches tall and beginning to sucker. They will be popped in the greenhouse later this week after being hardened off for a few days, the forecast for us seems to be predicting stable night time temps of 8-12 degrees so that's good :) Then after 3-4 weeks in there they will be hardened off again before potting on/planting out in June.

Mine not that tall yet bilbo. My warscewiczii are about 8 inches tops and nz around 6 inches but they have been in the greenhouse for the last couple of weeks in the day time and bringing them back in on nights below 8'c.

I invested in a heat mat for the first time this year, so the Canna's have had warm bums and are popping up 4 inches or so. I hope they put on a good show this year, last year( in Terry Thomas voice), they where an absolute shower!!!;)

Sadly, I also used the phrases " Ding Dong"( Leslie Phillips) and Well helllloo!! on an american forum, it was lost on them.

            Terry T , " School for Scoundrels" , what a showman!

Looks to me to be rather too small to overwinter (without actively growing on). Very prone to root-rot if cold + wet feet - more so when plant is small

Im sure you are right - everything was sodden at the end of last year & didnt realy dry out at all ; but I expect that the damage was done early on in the winter when the power went out in the greenhouse for a couple of days & I didnt notice until it started to freeze up on the inside.

On a happier note, Musella lasiocarpa came thru fine & should be outside.. when it stops blowing a gale..
