but I have quite a few with good looking foliage.

      Canna Roi Humbert:

Canna cleopatra which Pete gave me last year. I love the foliage, and the bi-coloured flowers are equally as enjoyable.

Canna Australia - which quite a lot of people have said was hard to overwinter / kick start in the Spring but seems to have done OK for me:

and this one I've forgotten the name of - Canna striata perhaps?

Looks like C. Striata or Pretoria or Bengal Tiger , I am growing them this year . Don't know if there is any difference in the 3 names , I prefer Bengal Tiger :dbgrtmb:

I shall be really upset if I find that I could have done! as I paid good money for this one. (Although ... it was in a half-price end-of-last-season sale of broken-off-bits-of-tuber - so a really class piece in fact :heehee:)

Doubtful I think; it probably needs vegetative propagation as a hybrid and won't come true from seed. I got mine from Jungle Plants

            http://www.junglegardens.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d12_Canna_Plants.html#Product-P144

they ain't cheap though I'm afraid (but good quality and well packaged IME). £12.95 for the plant and £4.95 shipping ...

They look to be OK so far, but its a small plant as yet so a bit hard to tell how well it will develop when it matures.

Just had a close look at my Canna forest whilst watering and discovered flower buds coming on 'Speciosa', 'Tenerife' and one that I bought the seed for simply named as an 'orange/red hybrid', looking good :)

Hi Joolz, some of mine aren't particularly tall either, but what I found with a couple of species in the past is that the original shoot (central stem) either flowers or slows up and then is over taken by more vigorous suckers/side shoots :)

First flowers on my C.Tropical . Quite a bit earlier than other years - I think.
