Sorry but yes,when did you buy them? recently in leaf or as rhizholmes?

Looks like it's curtains for the Cannas then.....

It's a relief to find the virus doesn't effect other plants,they were in my conservatory next to my early tomatoes

I agree, its just not fair!
Morrisons need a slap! but then i guess they can say they didnt know as they only sold rhizholmes,i still think they need telling thou loli x

 

I bought 3 packs of 2 but when they started growing ended up with 10...so much for my 'hot' border...they're going to get pretty warm tomorrow

I'll be mentioning it to Morrisons tomorrow

 

Im scrutinising every new leaf as they come now from last yrs rhizholmes,the leaves look crap when dying down in autumn so im worried they could still get the virus then and i dont find out until they rise again now...not paranoid honest

 

Back in the 90s I had quite a few Canna varieties oin the go.
Back then I'd not heard of Canna Virus, so when they didn't flower well one year I thought it was due to the weather that summer.
I was growing the vareigated types so tended to dismissis the motling on the leaves as normal.
I had to destroy the lot, then waited a couple of years before buying any new ones.

 

I have to admit initially I did think what interesting veining on the leaves,quite attractiveThe light what I've taken the picture in really shows how blooming awful they look now...

Same as Pete. Didn't bother again until after the move, and now only from seed.

 

Bad luck Loli . Here is a report on the Canna virus , with good photo examples.
It is important not to get paranoid ( like I am ! ), that every blemish or brown edge on a leaf is the virus.

I'm not sure how you tell on the stripy-vein ones. Someone had some from Urban Jungle (I think?) last year that looked like the veins were "broken", which is the normal means of telling, and the Supplier said that they were definitely virus-free (IIRC). There should be an old thread where it was discussed?
