I brought in a pot that had stood in another pot hoping to germinate the seed inside the compost in the pot...a Dypsia seed.
it had'nt germinated so I brought the pot inside the house and checked it was'nt drying out the morning after...I could'nt believe it Loofah, a dirty great mother of all slugs crawling on the window sill...and this before breakfast..

I had caribbean sunset that i thought maybe dodgy,i put it in front garden away from the rest and now the new leaves have come through they are perfectly fine,i think bugs/slugs are making me paranoid with the leaf damage they cause x

She's big bold and brassy and screams look at me! I love her. Thanks again Joolz:blue thumb:

I had similar issues with the orange one that I grew from the seed that Sal collected in Thailand. It looks healthy again now that I've addressed the slug issue.

I'd send you a plant but all mine seem to be virused so I'm going to bin the lot at the end of this year and start with fresh ones next.

Bought a new Canna from B and Q . Had a look at all the stock which appeared virus free . Now it was described as C. Tropicanna which seem to be a cover all generic name . Would it have a full name ?

A long time ago @HarryS when I first came across the red stripped Canna it was called C. durban, there was a corresponding yellow leaved one called C. pretoria.

Since then they have changed all the names around and "Tropicana" seems to have come along.

I just tend to think the word Tropicana is being used too much these days when referring to Cannas and causing all kinds of confusion, especially if seed grown.

If you want @joolz68 I could send you a division in the green.
Probably wont flower this year but should bulk up a bit ready for next year.
