canna plant and easter lilie winter care

    Best to treat them as you would Dahlias. I certainly dig them up down here and still have the odd loss over winter (storing in the greenhouse - frost free). The gardeners at Wisley regularly dig up their Cannas and since we are quite close I do the same.............

      Easter Lily usually means Zantedeschia Aethiopica but in the States it is Lillium Longifolium.
      Are you refering to the white flowered perrenial with the thick arrow shaped green leaves? if so it would be Zantedeschia.

      It is Lilium Longifolium as you have said, they are relatively hardy but they are only called Easter Lilies as they are forced for the Easter market in the US, so planting them in the ground will result in them flowering in the summer, their normal flowering time.:)

        Cheers strongy. I was wondering why it had not flowered in Easter...I thought maybe it was because of this freaky weather we get lol
