Freddy, I agree with Harry, Hart Canna are your best bet.

Not sure that you only get small flowers from seed grown, it would depend on what variety you go for.

I'be bought seeds from Alice (beloved1) on ebay in the past, she really knows her stuff and offers a first class service, all I can find from her at the moment for big flowered varieties is this:

I potted up some of my 'Baggie method' cannas yesterday, all seem to be doing ok.:blue thumb:
As for my overwintered tropicana, I've snuck it into the house and near a radiator. Hopefully this will bring it to life.

I just checked your original post - it was only a week ago! There is still plenty of time for them to germinate.

I've only got 50% germination on my old seeds in potting compost, but 75% using baggy method. I'm going to use the lot this year (before I start getting zero germination) and get fresh for next year.

They were £2.25 earlier this month, so they've gone up a whopping 76%!!

Link to when they were £2.25

I got about 80% using the baggy method. They are doing well in little 9cm pots on the same windowsill.
Not sure how old the seeds were, they were a few from the seed swap which I am very grateful for.
My revived tropicana has another 2 shoots today. :spinning:
