Hi Pal, i was reading about you packing up the weed and was going to write about my experience of it but did'nt have the time, then when i did i forgot what forum it was in, now i've found you and i have plenty of time to write as i'm off work, because yesterday i fell down on my hand that i broke 5 years ago, after an xray it was found not broken but it's in a sling, they said it wasn't broken last time but a second xray proved them wrong, they can't always see it. So hoping they are right this time don't need it 4 weeks before xmas.

My daughter rang me up today and she said it was wicked now that i was home as she can never catch me in, and said she would see me on sunday, and i thought what's happening then, are we babysitting?
i'v got a mind like a sieve, so i said what's special about sunday then? and she said birthday, and i said who's birthday, she said yours. Well i knew it was near but did'nt realize it was that day, well i try to forget when i'm getting older.

Anyway to get back to the subject. I stopped smoking over 30 years ago because at the time there were a lot of adverts on the tele about the dangers of smoking, and every night i said before i went to bed that was my last cig, but in the morning i would always weeken again. Then me and my friend decided to stop and bought some tablets from the chemist called 24 hours. You took two tablets fot 2 days then the rest of the time you sucked the losinges. After the first course i still craved so bought another pack, that did it along with willpower. I had 3 packets of trebor mints a day and lost most of my back teeth, but i don't regret it as i'm a lot more healthy.
I often dreamt i was smoking again and believed it and almost went back on them. I have heard that a lot have people have experenced that too.

For rewards i bought myself clothes i would have used for the cigs, i only wish i had kept that up. i would be a millionaire now, (well nearly).

Well done Pal! and Mrs Pal! that's a tidy sum that you might have spent on cigs! and some to put in the kitty for daughter's big day!

As an ex-smoker myself - gave up about 25 years ago - I think it's awful when you pass shops or offices and see a group of smokers huddled in the cold and/or rain in the doorways because they must have a cigarette. I have never been that desperate to smoke and that would be enough to put me off anyway!

Sorry to hear about your wrist WG hope it's sorted soon and I join Pal in wishing you Happy Birthday for Sunday - 21??? :D

Congrats on kicking the weed Paladin, & Mrs Pal too!! You'll have a small fortune stashed before you know it and then you can blow it on enjoying yourselves.

Sorry to see you're off work again. Hope you're feeling better soon.
