    No argument of course....
so how do we go about showing our displeasure with the system? Many children of the 60s took to the streets didn't they? Showed a lot more political...and moral awareness then more recent youth generations. It wasn't all peace, love and flowers.
Most people in this country were against the war and in america it was only because they were told lies by their government.
Yes I can understand that there is a risk you get killed or horribly maimed if you join the armed forces, but if what you are doing is not justified and that is what some of our troops felt.

    Most people were against ?

    Unjustified ?

It's not the foriegn legion, soldiers are best placed to vote with their feet I would have said.

None of which has any bearing on the funding of cancer research ;)

Well I see your point BM, cant help thinking that I would find it easier to finish off one of these nasty types, (Knowing exactly what he or she had done), rather than killing some poor old cow/sheep that never hurt anyone.
People have a choice, animals dont.
I'm not a veggie but the whole system bothers me, capital punishment wouldn't.
As you say, what the hell has this got to do with cancer research. [IMG] [IMG]

Hi, Geoff. It's very difficult, isn't it? I went on the "Not in my name" demo. At least I can say to people in other countries that I was against it. Maybe if enough people demonstrated then it would make a difference. What Really scares me is that Bush/Blair started talking about religion and the war.
As regards Politicions and their veracity, well, Chris Tarrant said "You know when a politician is lying, their lips move". That just about says it all!!
    ;)

As regards our Armed Forces. I think that they are well aware of the "job" they're doing. Kill or be killed is part of it. These guys don't think like civilians. I think it's very unfair to expect them to behave like armed policemen.
Let them get on with it. If they don't like it they can buy themselves out.
