Capneys potato bin

    :rolleyes::D Sorry Robert missed this yesterday.. I tried a 2nd layer 1 year about 10 in total, but was very disappointed by the yield, they all grew lovely tops, but very few spuds on each plant.. Probably had the same yeild as the previous years one of just 5... So yes I would stick to 5 again.. I also do it your way.. Spuds on well drained layer, then 2/3s fill & then top up as necessary, to the top of the bin..!:thumb::)

    Remember last years potatoes from the bin?
    This is progress for this year so far.
    I have used just three Kestral tubers this year against five last.
    The greenery so far is looking very healthy

    They are looking good already - I have a crane bag of shingle coming this week, how many spuds do you think I could get away with planting in there?

    It was marvelous how many spuds came out of that bin,bet a crane bag full would keep you going all winter.
