... not a cardiocrinum, but, definitely, "giganteum"...

I will let you guess for a little while...but I cannot offer any seed this time!
This is an internet picture and i don't think I am likely to own one of these flowers anytime soon...

You can find out what it is in the identification area...

Ours has started growing again. This pic was taken today and it is already about 40 cm tall.

So, how many years till it flowers Kedi?
I presume you will be planting it out?

Hi Pete. Without looking back, I guess 3-5 years! Still, it is growing and it looks very healthy. I actually thought we had lost it due to getting too much water.

Yes, we will put it out after the last frosts in mid-May. Since the slugs like it, I thought we'd sink the pot half in and then put vaseline around the top as several people have said.

I see you have a new look, I didn't recognize you at first! Very pretty, but what is it?

Deleted because Sis has come on line which surprises me as I thought she was off before dawn tomorrow to Florida ... and she is one hour ahead of us (I'm the same as the UK).

    Where are you going Kedi?LoL.

My new look as you put it is the Clianthus that is just budding at the moment.
As to the cardo, shouldn't it be actually planted in the ground rather than growing in a pot? [IMG]

Well, yes, but Hubby said he was going to keep it in the pot for at least the first year.

We're off to Florida for 6 weeks. Our son and dil bought a house there last summer and we'll be staying in it.

When we came back off holiday, our giant lily was so big, we hardly recognized it! Well, not as big as the ones we saw in that place last year but still a good size and has a flower head even.

Hubby put it out in the garden a few days ago and here it is. I measured today and it is a shade under 150 cm.
