    That is incredibly cheap @WeeTam - I would worry how much that was going to go up when you actually went for the deal. Or is it restricted to 15 miles per month? :snorky:

    I had similar problems with an old Ford Granada without power steering, parking was a nightmare having to use both hands on one side of the steering wheel to heave it round. :heehee:

    Aye, it makes you wonder some times how we ever coped with the old motors, let alone the fact that we invariably loved the things!

    I still get all misty eyed about many of the older cars I have had or driven, yet if I was to actually drive one now, I would probably be as disappointed as hell.

      I used to work for a company that delivered Army trucks (Bedford). They were always a challenge.
      We also delivered cars, using 9 and 11 car carriers, and some articulated 7 cars (nightmare).
      I was a transport manager, but I am going back many moons. I sometimes wish I still did that job.

        Yes, I'm still stuck here, my house has been on the market a year and no sign of selling. After a complete standstill in property sales the bottom is now falling out of the market and prices are dropping rapidly. :doh:

        I don't think so Harry but I haven't bought one on the mainland for 23 years. :) What we often gain here are vehicles with half the mileage on the clock that they have across.

                Plus if buying you have to pay for all repairs from year 3, maintenance issues, roadside rescue and your driving a progressively older looking car.

                This might cost you either many hundreds if your lucky or many thousands if your unlucky.

                There's also the penalty under the conditions/clauses of the lease where any damage can be claimed back by the Leasing Company......a Sword of Damocles over your head.:hate-shocked::heehee:

                Plus other considerations. Mileage limitations, initial 'rental', service charge, and you show a depreciation over six years on a price that I wouldn't pay. :)

                The lease is for two years and if you keep that car or get another vehicle from them the monthly charge would be much higher. Also, I can usually negotiate at least a 15% discount (my current car was listed at just over £31,000 and I got it at £26,700 plus £1,500 of extra equipment). It took a lot of shopping around and the car came from a main dealer 200 miles away - they drove it down and driver went back by train.

                To be fair, I usually find that the depreciation on my cars works out at about £2,000 p.a. but I drive a bigger car (S80) and keep it for 10 years. At the end of that period the car still feels, and drives, like a new car. I've had this one eight years, it costs me less than £200 a year for servicing and MOT (local garage) and never had to change anything but tyres - and an occasional light bulb that the garage always do free of charge.
