Full of symbolism, that one..... Is the weathering real, or did you do it artificially? Looks like you did it quite a few years ago.

I'm sure other members have ones like this..but what exactly are they?..I happened to stumble across mine in a disused Marina but don't think it's anything to do with boats is it?

 

Looks like a pestle to me, what does everyone else think? Or is it a mortar, I get those two muddled.

 

I've seen others in various sizes and the design must be for a secure hold in use.
It has a flat bottom ,is made of Marble and weighs about 4lbs.

 

do you think it could be from a church? possibly for baptisms. maybe its too small.

 

That last pic does make it look rather small but it's about 8" across

Marble sounds like something from a churchyard,item on the grave,for plants or flowers perhaps
