Castles in the Air

Thank you Pal, rosa, Aaron, Sis and robert.

Sis ... the bed was certainly odd and not to 'our taste' shall we say. I didn't get a good enough pic but here is one off their site of the other suite (only two) and I know it's not ours because there is a window. Also, our bed did not have the full wooden canopy, only half and velvet drapes next to the pillows ....



... with hindsight we should have opted for this, the Presidential suite (bit more like Castelo de Palmela) ....




... n'er mind, there's always another time ... (sigh)

Robert .... it is truly a photographer's heaven, not just there but also further South where we were the two first days and last year for five days in the Arrabida National Park and Sado Estuary.

Is Madeira on the cards? We are there 3rd -17th August.

 

It was lovely strongy but there was 'business' involved in the trip also so all was hectic at times.

Madeira is not counted out but not booked ... it is t'other half's birthday on the 17th and the ferry we would be on arrives on the 17th mid morning. Found a really nice apartment near the port and we would take the car. Will keep in touch with you on this ... sounds an unlikely meeting ... passing ships and planes in the day ....

 

Oh well, perhaps another time another place.
