I recall them from Italy and yes they will turn into tree , but not really an impressive one ,more of an invasive plant , as the wind will break the branches very easily and as they turn into tree , the leaves are getting smaller .....Jungleseeds have 25% off before xmas , I was thinking to buy the blue giant , they are impressive , fast growing and the best of all , no insect or snail will mess with it ; ) , plus someone told me that the roots are frost hardy and they reshoot in spring , really want to find out how true is that myself.

True Pete, although I won't have the 'grow at work' advantage and I will have to grow at home like you 'common folk'.:love30::D

I had two Ricinus Communis planted out in the garden (6ft high) and they were looking good right up to Saturday (10th Dec) but Sunday morning the frost had finally got them - not bad though to make it this far!

They would be lucky enough to see the end of October last year!

I have overwintered a couple in the heated greenhouse before ,they were a few that were left in small pots after bedding out the best plants . I did use them outside the following year .But as already mentioned easy from seed ,and they don't take kindly to the damp in a cooler greenhouse ..
