How pretty she is! You have some nice plants, but your weather is much milder. What's the pretty stripey leafed plant immediate behind?

Shiva (Bengal boy, 2 years old)

Nellie (Maine Coon girl, 3 years old)

Galileo (son of a stray and probably half Scottish wildcat!) - here play-murdering Shiva!

Diego, my big bad sweetheart, died 3 and a half weeks ago aged almost 3, Galileo's twin brother (no box or basket was ever too small!)

We have two new babies who we have had for the past week, they are just 9 weeks old now and we don't have any pictures of them online yet! They are rescue kittens, Emily and her brother Larsson.

They are all beautiful. I bet Galileo misses his Diego too! :( What is is with cats and baskets? or even boxes? Emily an Larsson are lucky babes to have been chosen by you. Are you sure 1/3 of the garden will be sufficient for the encloure ... perhaps half may be more suitable if you guys sit in there as well! :D :D :D

My screen saver is pictures of my various babes going around and around so I never forget them .. not that I ever would!

Well, most people have pictures of their husbands and children on their desks at work - I have pictures of my cats!
Unfortunately a third of the garden is all that is feasible right now - well, they end up with a sunny spot right outside the dining room window which is where the access to the enclosure will be, then a tunnel with a downwards ramp leading into the enclosure and the enclosure itself will be 15 feet by 18 feet and around 6-7 feet high. Of course it is still very much a "prison" for a kitty bunch that is used to run free out there, but better than what they have now - which is confirnement to the indoors!
And if it is fun building, we can easily imagine building little tunnels across "human areas" (flower borders that may have poisonous plants, or the barbeque area or the new pond) and smaller enclosures in other corners of the garden.

They are our babies and we want to do our best for them. The house could do with some home improvement, but not until the kitties aren't happy again - until then all the money goes into caring for them!

There's just no stopping you, BM, is there? An interesting breed but I think the spots look best on the original species.

I realise this has sexual overtones but I think it is at least in the right section to be considered non gardening. :D

Beautiful! Bayleaf, was your best beloved girl a Tortoiseshell or a Calico? What is the difference, is there white on a Calico and not a Tortoiseshell? We know Calicos are always girls, and if the powers that be let it be then we may have our Candida in the not too distant future!

She was a long haired Tortie (she also had a small patch of tabby marking on one of her paws)- she "adopted" me, just wandered in one day as a kitten & stayed for 20 years - she was very talkative too (as most Torties are). There is some info on Calicos at this link
    http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/mdmanual/01glance/symbols/html/cat.html
Diggy came to us much the same way, she was abandoned as a kitten (her "owners" moved & left her behind) - she used to sleep under the hedge by my back door & being a softie, I took her in. They used to sleep curled up together when they thought no-one was looking & make out that they hated each other the rest of the time.
