That was an interesting article, Bayleaf, thank you. I have saved it. I'm sure Candida must be a Calico and not a Tortoiseshell as, for the few hours we had her, we noticed a distinct pattern.

Our Puschka, who died in December aged nearly 15, hated Magic Sam, aged 11 this September ... unless she was frightened (being in the van, car or even a thunderstorm) and then she'd snuggle up to him like her long-last friend! Magic Sam has become quite a chatterbox since he's been on his own! If he was fussing about, I'd always go "eh? what do you want?" and his favourite chatter when he comes up to us now is he says "eh" as clearly as I did, and headbutts our legs, arms or whatever!

Hey, Bayleaf, and thanks for that link too! Great fun! I've saved it for when my sister and brother-in-law come down to house/kitty sit when we go to the IoW in October as they are cat mad as well. There were so many familiar scenes on some of the films! Sister will particulary like the Siamese climbing up the walls as hers always did this! :D

Wishaw, your Maine Coon is beautiful, after losing my Birman years ago (stolen) :( I thought about a Coon but went for a rescue cat instead. Tikka was a lovely tortie and lived to 20, I wish I could have had a Coon as well. [IMG]

Strongylodon, Coonies are wonderful cats, they stay kittens all their lives. They are not very good at change though - every time we get newcomers in, she sulks for ages! But otherwise they are like dogs, following everywhere. We have even been lucky in that our coonie girl is a distinct lap cat, which is not normally a thing associated with Coonies, but she leaps at every possibility to make herself comfy on my lap. Which is a bit annoying because I do serious cross stitching in front of the telly - and try doing that with a playful cat on your lap who is trying to catch needle and thread! And if that one weighs a massive 7kg shifting around on your lap it is fun!
I would get a Coonie again any time. Nellie's breeder often has former queens to give away as pets, but she is in Huntly in Aberdeenshire, not really your area!
But our new baby cat Emily (a "calico" or as they are known in the UK tortie and white longhaired non-pedigree) displays an awful lot of coonie traits already - you might get lucky finding a "fake" coonie in a pet shelter! ;)

Just looked at all your wonderful moggies Guys,
I could give all of them a big hug.

I had two cats about 15 years ago, when I split with my partner at the time we had one each, Minstrel (long haired black/white)
died of kidney failure shortly after
I left, he had already used up one of
his lives because he was asleep under
the car and we ran over him, amazingly
he survived. I took Snob to live in a
first floor flat, she jumped out of
the window twice with no injury.
She died aged 14 (still very sprightly)
when a Staffie chased her, I was out
but one of my neighbours said she
put up a good fight, another
neightbour took her body in, I was
too scared to go and get her so my
    boyfreind (now hubbie)got her, there
was not a mark on her so I assume she
had a heart attack, I do wonder what
    age she would have reached.

Sue, when a pack of three dogs killed my Diego just 4 weeks ago, there was also little to see (he did bleed a bit from his belly but it was nothing that would have killed him). He was also very brave, he died saving another one of our cats! Our vet said his neck was snapped clean and his ribcage was completely smashed in. Both injuries were not at all obvious, even when I carried him home from the battlefield :(

All your kitties are just gorgeous.
Here's my boy, The Biffy, in the tumble drier. This picture was taken a couple of years ago, he's a lot fatter now I hate to say!

That's the one ... I just LOVE it! :D :D Gave me a good laugh again ... need that at the moment as I've just had major work done on two teeth and my mouth, tongue and lips are very sore! :(

Thank you for finding it. ;)
