Dont bother ziggy, I've got more respect for your helpfull posts than any other, I do read alot you know! but I can understand why a 64 yr old felt kicked around, I'm not new to forums just gardening, some of the forums I'm on will eat you alive, you dont need to Mod me, I'll pick up my own tools and walk, so thats #2 members lost.

    Have fun, bye.

That's very true, I read much more combative and bad-tembered forums than this one. I'm always impressed by how kind, good-natured, fun and tolerant the discussion is on here. I know from experience that it can be very upsetting when something you've written kicks up an unexpected storm but I really hope Jack & Plant Potty reconsider.

      Plant Potty,

If you're still listening, thank you for the respect.

I had no wish for you to leave the forums too, I didn't want anyone to leave the forums over one disagreement.

I'm not new to forums either and have had some heated debates about the cat problem in other places.

      But this forum is different.

Compare it to a night out on the town, you can choose to go into a loud pub with lots of music, shouting and punch ups or you could go into a quiet pub where you can sit down and have a friendly chat over a few pints.

This is the quiet pub with the nice beer garden.:)

This happens every time someone mentions cats on here.

There is no easy solution & feelings run hot on both sides.

Now lets all have a nice cup of tea & put our toys back in the pram.:)

No worrys ziggy, this is a nice little boozer, but it has now been stated this "problem" comes up time and time again, so its really not mine or Jack's problem, its a forum/gardening problem, you choose to post zoo poo and leave it at that, but some of the old guard went to great effort to fan the flames, while they continue to do so this forum/quiet boozer will continue to have its Friday night punch up when the next noob walks in and puts "Who let the dogs out" on the duke box.

I'm still looking around, but whatever forum/advice I find for my growing needs it will never change the upbringing about live and let live I've been lucky enough to have.

dog mess in public area= antisocial (and stopped by law)
        dog barking all day= antisocial
        dog jumping at strangers= antisocial
"pet" crapping in next doors garden= antisocial
"pet" digging up next door plants= antisocial

and that's my mind set:) I wrote "pet" coz I really dont care what peeps choose to own, just that they look after them properly on their own land.

        Kind Regards, Plant Potty.

        Glad you're back.

I expect this problem has been cropping up in one form or another since we stopped being hunter gatherers:DOH:

In feudal times, the Lord of the Manor would have his dove cote, the pidgeons and eggs were for him, not the peasants, yet they were not allowed to kill them when they ate their crops.

        Imagine how that felt.:cry3:

More recently, a farmer in Porthmadog was on the news because a herd of swans had settled in his fields & were eating all his grazing, he couldn't touch the birds & was ranting about "will the Queen pay for feed for his sheep?"

There are a lot of things not fair in society and sometimes there are no easy answers.
