Thanks for your comments folks. I wasn't going to mention it but it seems that I came across as a nutter!(not a good thing in my job!)

I will try the owl option and thanks for the advice

I have two cats and are adorable. one cost me £300 and the moggy £5 both are of different characters like people. I would sue if anyone were to set a trap on my cats or use bb gun or an air rifle. it is disgusting to know just because you dont like an animal you have to hurt them. we have to live in harmony on this planet man or beast.

    Hi Trux

Very sorry to hear about your grand-daughter and thanks for the apology.

Unfortunately, bird/animal droppings is the unpleasant part of the joy of having a garden. I'm not enamoured of having to regularly clear up after the foxes, badgers, field rats, pheasants and other birds in our garden - but I don't hate them (although I may be swearing whilst doing the clearing up [IMG] ).

It is sad that animal droppings have had such an impact on your family but the animals are only acting naturally.

I hope that the disagreement that has occurred here on GC does not put you off. There are some great people on here and the best gardening help and advice.

Hmmmm An apology would have meant a lot more to me if it would have come without a moderator having to step in! [IMG] especially as a newcomer to this forum.

Unfortunately the damage is already done for me. Comments like that I just can't forget at the first sign of a half baked apology!

As many others have said, there are a lot of freindly people on this fantastic forum with a whealth of knowledge & help to give, so burning bridges was probably not the best way to introduce yourself to everyone.

Anyway I've said my bit now, time to move on. A lesson learnt me thinks Trux....... [IMG] enjoy the forum.

On the subject of bird poo, I washed a car on saturday which had been burnt down to the undercoat by bird poo. I go out every day and use a mister on the jet setting with a very mild car shampoo/water mix. Gets it off before any damage is done and then I have a little jug of water which rinses off the residue. [IMG]
