In my life, the words 'wash' and 'car' together is an oxymoron. :D :D [IMG] [IMG]

My cats love to sit on top of my car to watch the world go by. It's in a car port, y'see and so they can sit there when it's raining and stuff. Only problem is, they tend to skid down the windscreen to get off and I end up with all these long muddy paw prints all over it!

Also, one had a bird on there the other day and there's feathers stuck all over ....

........ can I borrow your kitty, bananaman?

    (Only joking, peeps!!)

Probably the car isn't, though! :D

I'm not one to talk though - should see the state of mine

I do love your smileys, MD - great stuff!

We've got a really evil present for our Tom for when the young birds begin to hatch..... a collar that goes BEEP!!! when he starts to launch himself...... he'll hate us!! But it might save a few little birds. He does ten to have more success in hunting them than I would like to see :(

Birds and animals have lived on this planet before man invented the car so come on guys dont complain about their phoo as we are invading their space. dont forget they are defenceless creatures. I got bitten by a very large dog but that doesnt' mean to say I hate them. I used to own one.

Just some tips in respect of cats in gardens - they are doing what comes naturally, given freshly dug soil, shingle, sand and the like. Cat owners replicate it when using a litter tray.

Its easy enough to clear off, like other animals mess and weeds - and a lot easier than white fly and vine weevil - one irritant among many. Where seedlings, and young plants are concerned - protect them with prickly twigs and the like and they'll be fine.

Just as an aside here, at the Woodgreen animal sanctuary just outside Cambrigde, they have three enormous pens for their cats with around 40-50 cats in each. The pen has a wire netting cover so the cats can't climb out. There's sheds with shelves and little kennels all over the place and every cat has it's own little spot where it sleeps. It's quite cute, really.

Anyway, to get back the the subject in hand, for toileting purposes, down two two sides of the pen are borders of pea shingle about 3-4 feet wide, can't remember exactly. But all the cats use them without any problems and, for the most part, they don't bury their 'leavings' either!! Several times a day the staff go round, lift out the solids and hose it all down. I've never seen such a clean, wholesome environment with so many cats!

Now in the dog pen it's an entirely different thing ... ! Yuk!

R200, I think your threat to lob bricks through my window is far worse than anything I said.

I suggest you read my post again I said nothing about lobbing bricks through your window!! I was merely referring to my disgust in general (for which I don't think I am alone) at people who have done, or have the intent to, inflict cruelty or injury on defenseless animals!

Here's a copy of it....'We have 2 cats & If i found out that some one was throwing stones or unbelievably shooting at them then I would be round their house in a flash...probably with a brick in my hand'

Reminds me of what Jasper Carrot said....
He moved in to a new house and a German Shepherd used to jump over the fence from next door every day and **** in the middle of his lawn.

Rosa we should have the same laws for cats they should have a collar on with owners id owners should be fined if they use someone elses garden as a toilet the collars should have a warning device on so they can't sneak up on our wildlife
