Cats

Jut watching Me myself and Irene.............very funny, Jim Carey as "Hank" does the business himself on his neighbours lawn.

 

My cat has a happy arrangement, Not in my garden, Not in the next door garden who I am friends with and who spray him if he does ..... But in the garden of the witch on the other side who I don't speak to!!!

Who ever said cats lack intelligence!!!!

 

I am working up the nerve to tell next door neighbour (who we get on with) that his new cat is using one of his flower beds as a toilet. I wouldn't mind, but its right up against the fence on our side and when the wind blows, you can smell it in that area :(

I don't want him to get embarrassed, as he's very "aware" of doing the right thing...so I need an excuse for him as to why the cat's p*** etc is bad for his garden

 

Try this,a tip from my mate who has an allotment which cats used as a lav before he took it on ....Make an infusion of stinging nettles and let it brew for a few days,then spray it on your border soil where the cat tends to favour. It has a strong smell of freshly cut grass to me but it seems to work,I've been experimenting with this method for two years now and not even our own cat squats in my patch. He seems to prefer the field these days.

 

I had a garden with very brave cats. I had two dogs, and the cats would sit on the fence teasing the dogs, which the dogs would run around the garden barking etc. It did solve the problem of cat poo, as the cats wouldn't dare venture into the garden, having a dog flap meant that the dogs could pounce at anytime!

 

Popular misconception that cats like to bury their poo. Depends upon the circumstances. Sometimes a female will bury to hide her presence, whilst a dominant male will do it to mark his territory.

Has anyone tried Roar - the dried lion poo? I never have but a friend did and swore it worked wonderfully well. Can just imagine the local moggies taking a sniff and thinking "Crikey - no way I'm messing with their cat!"

 

Did you hear about the pet moggy that managed to kill a wild lion?







The moggy got stuck in the lion's throat and it choked.

(Sorry, poor joke but I couldn't resist a modification of the old rottweiler vs chihuahua joke).

Every year the same problems.
I wish I could invent something that would get rid of cats out of peoples gardens.
There is defiantly a gap in the market for something that works 100%.
I could be a millionaire. :lollol:

 

You could well be Lyn, I do love cats but I understand that not everyone does, and if there was an effective deterrent it would be better for the cats and the garden owners-everyone would win.

 

Thanks for all the replys folks....So it looks like there is no complete cure but I like some of your ideas especially the Lion poo

I do keep the grass short and ive squirted water but they are soon back. A neighbour of mine recommended some chemical formula but I just looked at him then at my kids then back at him again....I think he got the picture.

I dont like dogs either so thats out of the question.

Maybe I should replace the poop with a coctail stick so they wont squat in the same place twice.
On second thoughts erm.....no I wont bother with that one lol

So do I , but a squirt from a hose pipe wont do any harm.


As a cat owner id rather someone intolerant to cats mess does this than takes a pop shot with an air rifle as we know ocasionally happens.
