Hi Aster as John say's I do indeed know a thing or two about cat poo throwing! :D

I have two of those sonic cat scarers plus one on hold for my back garden when it's done.

They do work wonderfully although it may take a couple of weeks before you see the lack of poo in your garden as some cats like to be brave.

I have to say when we brought the first one we had many a good giggle seeing the cats give our garden a very wide berth, they would pop along the path and when they got to our gate they would stop and run like mad over the other side of the road!

It was seeing how well the device worked that made up our mind to buy the other two.

All went well until I realised that one of our neighbour's four cats kept coming back and would calmly stroll onto our patch to do it's 'thing' I have since found out that the cat is deaf and the device doesn't work on him!

I have tried everything even berberis cuttings laid on the top of the soil this did work very well for a time and I'm pretty sure the cat had a prickle or two for its trouble.

All went well until the cat thought b*gger that I'll c*ap on the path and leave it there for them to clean up!

One thing that I must say works wonderfully well (at least for me) is that I collect the cat's mess and fling it over the hedge for my neighbour to clean up, I do this late at night and have to tried really hard not to giggle as I do so.

Not only I am returning her property but making it known that she should make a little mess area in her garden for her cats to use as although she has a green garden her borders are bricked over!

I have to say until christmas 2006 we had our own cat and made sure there was an area in the garden for her to do her 'thing' in the back yard, if more people were like minded then maybe cats would poo in their own plot instead of others because boy does the mess smell!

Hope I have been of some help and sorry about the essay it's another thing I'm known for on here! :D

    Hi Helofadigger

Which sonic cat scarers do you use. As our neighbours have just acquired two young cats
and both of them use our garden as their toilet - thought it might be worth investing if they
    really do work.

:D That was funny. I like a good laugh.
I am a cat lover and have several cats but the little sods use MY garden only and I do love to get amongst the plants to do a bit of weeding and I find the poo in numerous places. They have to go somewhere I suppose. However, I think it is a good idea to turn the hose on your neighbour's cat as that is one thing a cat hates. Nothing else seems to work.

Has anyone had any success with lion poo as a deterrant, or do the cats just laugh in the face of it? It makes sense to me to have the scent of a much larger cat, and some websites claim that it can keep squirrels away too, as they're my biggest problem (I lost about half a dozen fronds on my Dicksonia to repeated visits by Bubba the Fat Squirrel).

My husband used to keep a washing up liquid bottle full of water at hand in one of our previous houses, and it certainly made the worst culprit run away each time, but it kept coming back!

Julia the lion itself is far more effective than the lion poo, as for laughing in the face of it that depends on how hard you throw it. :D

    good morning all

i myself have a big cat poo problem but also own 2 myself,

in my front garden i have a big box which covers the grid flowers are put into it in summer but is not used after or before then,

my 2 cats do use it as a loo which i don't mind as they are mine but.................. next doors moved his lady friend in and also moved 2 of the fattest cats you have ever seen in with her !!!

they now proceed to **** all over my front lawn i have to remove at least 6/7 lots before even mowing it and its only approx 12 by 12 ft if that.

i love cats but get really narked over hers ****ping so have decided to put a fence all the way round my front garden so they can't just jump up the wall and **** ,

they are that fat that they will have to walk round to do one and when they do they will find out that i have put slate down fingers crossed this will work as they don't seem to like going on slate !!

cats are a big pain for doing there mess as my dad found out his NDN has a big tom which kept ****ping in 1 area under his roses ,

he tryed everything to stop it water , yelling running after it and it carried on so when i went to visit him i noticed appox 20 folks stuck in the ground under the rose bush i asked what they were for he said to give it a shock if it drops another there,
i went to have a closer look and on inspection found a turd right in the middle of the forks i wet myself laughing ,

he since put slate down and has not had one since !!

We have a nuisance cat round here always out day and night .
Kills the birds digs up your plants trys to eat your fish keeps us awake at night and poos where it wants to.
We don't no who's it is or where it comes from.
By last summer I had just about had enough of this cat after it killed the baby Wrens that had been nesting in our garden.
I got a water shooter, the best thing in the world for getting rid of cats.
    They hate them.
It works off a sensor when the cat triggers it it shoots the cat with water.
You should see it run. :D
It's connected to the hose and although it can't be used in the frost because of freezing.
Within a couple of days the cat was gone.
    They learn quickly.
I have noticed it walks round the fence now.
Even although the shooter is off at the moment because of the weather.
It will be back on asap.
It also gets rid of Herons and squirrels.

Brilliant idea Lyn I have to say I hate the cats that do same in my garden.

But when going out a walk dogs owners should lift dog poo.

Plus now we have noticed some horses leave on pavements and its like dodgems when out a walk.

    Horses , yes.
Last Sunday being a lovely day we went out we went to Earlswood lakes and I was amazed at the amount of horse doings all over the pavments. Why can't they pick it up ?
Or at least move it to the side of the verge .
There were some people in wheelchairs and people with buggies having to try and get passed it.
Not a nice thing to have on the wheels to take in doors or have to put into the boot of your car, some people went for Sunday Lunch and had to try and clean up the wheels and shoes. [IMG]

We have a dog and always take a bag.
We have the sented ones. :D
