I would hope the garderners would have more sense.

When the very first Big Brother came out - I watched a couple of episodes, and then decided that it was a programme that appealed to our voyeuristic nature, and appeared to include people desperate enough to do anything to get publicity. I have never watched it since.

Kinda like I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - watched one, and never again.

Give me Top Gear any day :D

I think it has all been a publicity stunt cooked up by Big Brother producers.

'Our figures are flagging, what can we do?' , 'I know, let's get everyone outside BB riled up with some racism/bullying '

Too much a coincidence that no-one is watching then this happens.

And, No, I haven't been watching either.

It has got everyone talking about BB, whether they watch it or not though ;) .

Nathan..you are probably right as Jade goody knew exactly what to say when she came out..And according to someone in the know at the BBC those inside have now been tipped off and i just watched it for an hour and they are all behaving like they are the best of friends..
I must admit i enjoyed it more last year when Pete burns was in as he was really funny..Once they put the Goodys in well that was like the begining of the end..

my view about Big brother is that: if some lazy b*ms are allowed to be viewed on live camera all day long, while they sleep, scrach themselves and all the rest of it, it doesn't come as a surprise that they have somehow to liven up the atmosphere.
It makes it even easier if one of them is loud, bad mouthed, aggressive, and looking forward to make troubles and the other part is of more remissive nature.
And even easier if there are some stereotype to help you with the job.
In this case it could have been chicken curry, if she would have been Italian it would have been spaghetti, just to make an example.
I just followed what was said on the news about the programme, so I don't really have the whole picture, but for what i heard I would not describe the content as particularely racist.
Ok, somebody cried, but they do like to cry in that programme....

never usually watch this program but Jo O Meara lives down our road so just had to watch a bit to be nosey weird watching someone who you see driving down the road and walking their dogs on tv, she was also in my eldest girls year at school, who says she never remembers Jo being bullied cos she was always with the in noisy crowd herself,I could earn a fortune with the papers if They knew some of the things I know!!!! never watched it in my life before - however
1 - Indian woman that all the fuss was made about got what she wanted, PUBLICITY
2 - Programme got what it wnnted - PUBLICITY
3 - think she is called Jane - not sure what she got, but she is cetrainly very inarticulate, did or did she not know what it was all about, probably not, but I certainly think no 1& 2 did ???

Who cares I am sure they were all paid well!

Surely Michael Barrymore's bullying of a young woman on a previous programme was worse than Jade's outburst. Isn't all bullying to be deplored not just racist bullying? There may be some benefit in that people are identifying with the Indian woman and can see how painful racial abuse is to the recipient.

Time to pull the plug on all "reality" television. What ever happened to talent?

PLEASE SIGN UP TO THE LATEST CAMPAIGN.
It has been proposed that a statue to Jade Goody be erected outside Westminster to commemerate the culmination of Tony's ten year contribution to education.

I think they should have nipped the bullying in the bud before it got as far as it did..The racism part was borderline and Danielle LLoyd was worse than Jade goody as the racist comments came mainly from her mouth..still she has yet to face it when she comes out !!
Basically it was bullying in a gang as thats what happend.. on their own none of them would have acted that way..
Jade goody was very aggresive towards Shilpa and it showed in all her actions it made her a very ugly person..and i hope she dissapears from the public view..
I think what made it worse this year compared with jodie Marshs treatment off Barrymore last year was shilpa was very calm and took all the abuse without answering back and in the case of jackie abusing her she has respect for elders and didnt shout back..She just kept her calm ways about her..dignified is the word she isnt a fish wife schreeching in the streets..Jodie marsh didnt act very dignified at all..
I dont think Shilpa needed publicity she is allready well known ..It was jade.danielle.and jo that went in to up their profile well they did a great job ..They have managed to get all their contracts cancelled..they are basically finished..
I have never been a racist as their are good and bad amongst all races where i live if you go 2 miles down the road you will see the filthyiest white people you can ever imagine and all they want to do is sit in pubs and betting offices all day..the women are foul mouthed and the men positively revolting..Makes me ashamed to be white if i see any and if i have to catch the bus i sit with my scarf round my face as they dont smell very nice either..yet some of them probably think they are superior to a ethnic minority.
Its wrong to pick on someone because they have more pigment in their skin as they are still human beings..and thats what went on in the big brother house and it should have been stopped..

Its a sad refection on society that a programme that relies on the behaviour of people who are in general under-educated and with very under-developed social skills or values can command such attention.

It also seems rather sad that the people featured who can contribute so little of positive value to society to can command such earnings.

It a depressing thought that the language of many of the participants is becoming the norm for vast sections of society. (Though I do accept that ââ?¬Ë?normsââ?¬â?¢ are not static. My father thought ââ?¬Å?OKââ?¬Â was a pretty awful utterance)

Itââ?¬â?¢s maybe worth considering that the ââ?¬Å?celebsââ?¬Â in question are themselves products of dysfunctional families and/or have been unable to deal with premature ââ?¬Å?fameââ?¬Â.

One good thing arising from the programme is that it just might highlight bullying and its manifestations and show that little bullies grow up to be big bullies and that even in a very controlled environment its difficult to stop them.

Maybe Im just an old reactionary. But thats how it strikes me.
