Fast.com says I have 7.5 and it's OK. It was under 1 at my old house. I often couldn't see photos on the old GW site. Maybe @Sheal will find it better after moving house, I hope so.

Your upload speed should not normally be greater than your download speed, if it is it could indicate a problem. From what's been said I think it is a speed and/or individual set-up problem.
I suspect this site or more likely the host of the site like many others involves collecting data and this is where people are hitting problems. It may or may not be linked to the recent IT outage and therefore may clear itself. Those getting anything below 10Mbps I would suggest it will be worth seeing if you can get better speeds as this will only get worse as time go on and demands get greater.

I can't get a better speed in France @DiggersJo until fibre gets put in. Orange is the only company that has a signal here.

Just run the speed test on my PC which is wired direct to my router, much faster than with my phone using Wifi which was 27.2 Mbps download:

Just tried mine on Wifi, with my laptop.
          down load 87.4
          Upload 21.14

          Very different to my phone.

You are always limited by the slowest part/device e.g. if you have 300Mbps from the ISP but their router is only capable of 200 (or set wrong), that's what you get. It's the same with your mobile, it's down to the speed of the card it has in it. Also of course with your mobile over wifi the distance from the router will impact.

              Directly wired to the router:-

Download 11, upload 1. Quite happy with that as it's better than nothing when we get one of our many powercuts.

Thank you everyone for your kind words regarding my house move. It happened quickly with no hitches, and other half and I were through the front door of our new home just after noon. :)

That's a definite @Loofah but not for a week or so yet. Today is the first time I've actually managed to study what plants there are in the garden since moving in last Friday. There's quite an assortment of shrubs so when I locate my cameras I'll get out there and take some shots.

                Now, back to the thread...

I use the blue cloud background because the green one is too harsh for my eye problems. Even the white pages are a problem so the brightness on my computer is turned right down. On another forum I have the option to use a grey page background.

The screen was completely blank other than the colour when I changed from thread to thread. I also found a couple of days later I was having problems with other sites which suggests it was to do with the CrowdStrike issue.

Unfortunately I will never know for certain what happened having moved house during the malfunction. I also now have fibre/digital with a new router.

Thanks everyone for your input on this thread and hope the replies have helped some of you too. :)
