Good afternoon everyone Plural is clematises but its awkwardness has led to its being discarded. Therefore 'clematis' is used for one or more than one ...:rolleyespink::yess::)

I think the profanity filter is a little over-zealous. For instance, when I tried to write about Nigella Lawson's s l u t red raspberry dessert, I got the old treetreetree treatment. I mean, is s l u t really a word which is likely to cause problems on a gardening forum? I suppose it all depends how you dress to lift the spuds. However, I really fail to see how being 'urinated off' is better than being p***** off. In fact it manages to transform a rather mild bit of slang into something which sounds positively revolting. I think we should all use this new expression as often as possible, just to be contrary.

I think that would have to be Old Men's Beards. Otherwise you'd have one old man with several beards. :heehee:

Regarding grammar, one I do not understand is the following.

The parent who is not your dad is your mum.

So why is it some folk write eg, "I asked me mam and she said..........."

                Why the A instead of a U?

Following on from Claire's dessert, the filter used to change the P*ssardi Plum tree which I have (let's see if it still does ... Pissardi Plum tree). :heehee:

Goodness, the filter is now even filtering itself as it now says in Claire's quote of me (which I can't seem to copy over) that I said "urinxxxxxing" ... :what::scratch:

Edit: No, it apparently like Plums now ...

Only "Op North" word I picked up from Mam was saying "tong" instead of the southern way of saying it "tung" (Tongue, that is)

All the castle. grass, bath stuff, I didn't pick up.

My brother and sister have both lived in the London area for over 30 years . So all trace of their native Wigan accent has gone - except for the hard vowels , you can always tell a northener by the way they say bus.
